Weight gaining challenge. Is it possible?

Featured

Hello everyone, It has been a while since my last post. Thats because I have been working on my businesses, but now that they are up and going I have more time to do other things. One of those other things is something I have been wanting to do my whole life, and that is to gain weight.

Due to genetics I have a really fast metabolism, which for some people may sound awesome to have, but for me it has been a curse. I have been bullied for being skinny, insulted by girls for being to “skinny” despite me being 6’3 I am not muscly enough you could say. Due to my genetics I have been told my whole life that it is impossible to gain weight, and until now I have believed those people(family&friends), but I have decided not to listen to those people anymore. This brand is about chasing your fears, so this is a big one I am going to be chasing. The cause behind this is for several reasons. One of the reasons is a girl from my school who everyone wants but can never get said if I had more muscle I would be way more attractive. As A 19 year old boy, that gets some gears turning in your head. So I have decided to go after this goal.

How this is going to work is; I will be posting a post at least once a week explaining my diet, my exercise, and my mood. I know blogging isn’t popular anymore, but I am documenting this mainly for me, but feel free to follow along, That would be AWESOME! Maybe I can inspire someone to do the same. I know losing and gaining weight isnt the same. But I feel me gaining weight is going to be just as hard as someone who wants to lose weight, So lets do this together.

This is what I currently look like, and currently weight, as you see; im sure weighing 140 as a 6’3 male isnt great. I have adjusted my diet and will be taking supplements to help me gain weight. Only protein powder, nothing else. If I do happen to start taking anything else I will let you guys know in my future blog posts. I beleive anytning is possible if you put your mind to it. I want to weight 160 by the end of february, it is currently january 24th, I do currently go to the gym, so the muscle will come as I start to gain weight.

I hope you guys will follow along, and please let me know if you have any tips or advice that can help me with this goal.

Thank you for reading, have a great day.

The new chapter of this blog, and I hope you join the movement.

Hey guys, I am so sorry that I have not posted in awhile. I am currently starting a new company and brand, that is taking up a lot of my time. I am back now, but this time I will be doing things differently, I have started a youtube channel and Im just going to insert a piece from one of my videos explaining my new mission and what my goals are, and how I hope you will join me as the movement grows and changes peoples lives.

Hey guys! here’s the link to subscribe to my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmFg3m4BPWZh0wahZDmkizQ

My channel: dreamful lifestyle as described in the video if you watched it. Is a movement to motivate people to get out of their comfort zone the model of the channel and my brand as a whole is to “chase fear” telling people that everyone has fears, but those fears are irrelevant if you just tear down that barrier and get what you want, because at the end of the day you’re going to be looking back on your life and wished you had done more cool things rather than sitting in your house watching TV, we want the people who join our movement to look back on their lives and be happy with how they lived it. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmFg3m4BPWZh0wahZDmkizQ

Thats what this blog is going to be about now as well. I will be sharing experiences and journeys I will be enjoying and experiencing, and I will be documenting it all on my youtube channel as well. I hope you guys have a great day and remember chase your fears.

The path of vocation

There’s going to be things in life that get in your way of what you’re trying to achieve, its often at these moments that you will want to quit. Its around this time all your friends and family are going to tell you to stop, to play it safe. Go to college, get a job. You may want to listen to listen to these voices, this is when you will need to dig in deep and remember why you started, because that’s the only thing that will keep you working towards your goal.

The path to success; the path to something meaningful is hell and you will not get there unless you have a strong reason as to why you started, but never give up because your goal is worth every second of time you put in. If you give up on your goals and dreams then you didn’t want them that bad. the universe has a way of weaving out those who don’t really want their goals but say they do. Sometimes success is just sticking with the grind when other people are letting go, so stay on that rough path and it will be worth it. You will start to see success.

Interview with M. Curtis McCoy

On April 20th I interviewed M. Curtis McCoy, and he gave me insight and advice that has changed my life.

The first question I asked him was “what got you into the entrepreneurial world” and for us to understand this story we need to go back to when he was in college. He originally studied aviation technology in college, he got certified through NASA for doing ultra high reliability soldering. He quickly realized that this job was not for him. “This is not my dream job, so I left the electronics and stuff” so shortly after he realized that he did not want to do anything with aviation”shortly after I got out of college I realized this is not the career I wanted to pursue.” so once he realized this he went on to his next business venture shortly after. “I probably had 12 different side hustles going on at the same time trying to figure out which direction I wanted to go in life.” During this time McCoy was doing personal training and fitness, so this gave him an idea to start a fitness group called befitforfree.net, This group had around 29,000 active members. This group was made years ago so back then that was a fairly large amount of active people in a group. He ran a health company, as well as a medical research company, owned a cosmetical laser franchise, he also had a landscaping business. He even went into the clothing business, he was running all of these businesses at once. There’s no doubt that McCoy is a very hard working and motivated character to look up to. His biggest company that he still runs to this day is known as bestcellular.com. “But I massively failed at a whole lot of things as well.” McCoy may have started several successful businesses but not all of them have been hits, just like everything in life, you cant succeed without the failures in life. What matters is taking those failures and hardships and turning them into success.

Disaster strikes

While McCoy was doing all of these business ventures something very unfortunate happened. He was diagnosed with brain cancer and was only given 60-90 days to live, that was back in 2010, luckily those doctors were in correct and he is still around to tell his story. He lost everything and was sleeping on his parents floor on a deflating air mattress.

The cost of success

“I wouldn’t recommend this, it made for a terrible life for a long time” ” life sucked, anyone that wanted to hangout or drop by, it was because they knew about the money” success comes at price. You’re are going to have a lot of people that are fake and don’t really want to be your friend, they are just there for your success and money. You’re are not going to have much free time on your hands, McCoy was working six and a half days a week. Putting in 18 hour days. “People only see the success when you’re at the top” another thing is people don’t see all the failures and trials you go through to get to where you are, they only see the success portion and that’s when they like to call you “lucky” or “gifted” when that’s not the case at all. “don’t let success go to your head” McCoy then starts talking about how he used to be a little cocky and felt great about everything, until he was diagnosed with brain cancer he then realized that stuff happens and this event humbled him. ” Just be careful with getting to cocky” when he said this it got me thinking, because I’m an up and coming entrepreneur, i have a couple different revenue streams coming in and my social status is starting to grow. It starts to get to your head and you start getting a little cocky, so sometimes you just need to remember to humble yourself and remember where you came from.

McCoys current goals

Right now McCoy is focused on motivation as well as writing books. His biggest group right now is a group on Facebook called Success, Motivation & Inspiration. I would defiantly recommend going and checking the group out and joining it. It provides daily motivation as well as if you’re going through a rough spot in your life there’s plenty of people to be there for you and help you through it. They are growing pretty quickly. “I always loved inspiring and motivational groups” when asked what encouraged him to start this group, he just left it once he started getting a little success and “I guess you could say I thought I was the man” But as McCoy was going through his cancer, he had the chance to save someones life. He was called early in the morning one day, from a guy who was in the process of committing suicide. McCoy was able to talk that guy out of suicide, because of this group that guy is still alive and successful. McCoy’s current mission is to just motivate people to follow their dreams and goals and consume positive content.

New purpose

So I haven’t written on this website in awhile, and that’s because I have been busy trying to grow my brand, I also re-branded as well as giving my brand a meaning. My brand now has a purpose and a reason to its existence. My brand now raises awareness for teen suicide, it also provides motivation to people, I want my company to be associated with hope and motivation. I was interviewed by an entrepreneur by the name of M. Curtis McCoy, he cought interest in my brand and decided to live interview me on Facebook. I have started selling clothing at https://elevatedeffortapparel.com/ to really help this brand grow, I want to make sure my message gets out their and to let them know their is hope out there, and whatever they’re going through; they’re not going through it alone, I want to try to unite people because I feel that has been lost in today’s society.

Over the next year I will be focused on growing this brand and letting people hear my message, I have created accounts on every social media platform to try to reach as many people as possible, I will start speaking in public places and doing interviews to grow this brand and get my message out there that there is hope, and people will pass through the storm they are going through, as well as motivate them to follow their dreams and do what they want to achieve in life. I will try and write 2-3 blog posts a week, so please follow so you can stay updated on my journey to greatness.

Never Stay Down

This is one of the many important topics to me. In life you’re going to get knocked down several times trying to do something, nothing worth having is going to be easy to get. You’re going to have to fight for it and that is going to include you getting knocked down over and over again. This is when most people give up and quit pursuing their goals because an obstacle gets in their way and they just give up, rather than pushing through it. This is why most people in life settle and work a 9-5 busting balls for someone else.

I’m a young entrepreneur, just barely turned 18 and I’m trying to make a name for myself. Currently I am trying to start up two companies and I have had several set backs trying to achieve this, but I have a strong desire to make these work so I keep going no matter what gets in my way. One of my companies is an apparel company, I contacted and talked to 23 different suppliers trying to get the product I wanted for the price I wanted. It was really frustrating after each failed attempt with each of the suppliers I felt as though I would never be able to get this apparel company because there weren’t going to be any suppliers to give me what I wanted. I was ready to give up until something told me to just contact one more retailer; and it turns out they had the material I wanted and would be able to sell me the product for the price I wanted, because I didn’t give up I will be able to pursue my dream of having an apparel company because I didn’t give up. My other company I am trying to start up has been a little more challenging because its in even more of a competitive market then clothes, but I’m learning everything about it so I can get ahead of my competition and get a loyal customer base.

The lesson I’m getting at here is if you give up because you’re not seeing progress or not making the amount of money you want to be making; you’ll never achieve what you wanted because you gave up. If you fail just try one more time and try something new, and repeat the process until you see results or get it right, persistency does pay off, if you keep going at it and learning from your failures it’s going to come to you. If it were easy everyone would do what you wanted to do; but they dont because its not easy. So quit putting it off and get after it.

Experiences Not Expenses

This Thought came to me one night because I was laying in bed; but we all want fancy cars and fancy houses with our Gucci flip flops and our supreme shirts, but why do we want that stuff so badly? Its not going to follow us to our graves; once we leave this earth none of that stuff ever mattered we just thought it did because of the materialistic society we live in. When you’re on death bed you’re not going to think about the nice cars or big houses you had. What is really going to matter to you at that point in time is the regret you have for not traveling the world and getting experiences. A nice car isn’t going to make your life complete, you are just going to get bored with it in a few years and want a new one and the process will just repeat.

The biggest thing when people are looking back in life, they say they have a lot of regret for things they didn’t do. One thing you cant get back in life is time; money will return and the nice things will fade but time is a consistent thing that once its gone its impossible to get back. Those nice cars and houses are going to be irrelevant soon after you receiving those items, but something that is valuable and you will be happy you have are memories. Since the money will return we need to learn to go on trips and travel because those experiences are going teach us things and we are going to value forever, as well as getting priceless memories that we will hold forever. Rather than buying those nice cars or houses we can save our money and live a moderate life in return for travel and limitless memories that we will be happy we made with family and friends.

I used to want the nice fancy cars and big houses but I’m learning that those nice things aren’t going to matter when I get them, my life isn’t going to be very much different then when it was before I got those things. What is going to change my life will be traveling to other countries and states and experiencing things I will never forget. This brings me to the title of the post Experiences Not Expenses. Would you rather look back in life and regret it because you never traveled because you were in to much debt with the nice car and nice house? Or would you rather look back on the memories you had and know you lived a full complete life with no regrets. We only die once, and everyday we have a new opportunity to change our lives. Why do people go through lives being miserable working 9-5 every day. We only have a limited amount of time on this earth, make the most of it and live with no regrets.

The Golden Rule

We all know what the golden rule is “treat people the way you want to be treated” but very few of us actually care to follow this rule. Which is very unfortunate, because the world could always use more kindness; but instead we all treat each other poorly and talk bad about each other behind their backs. Then accuse them of spreading drama; the world is fake which is why I’m writing this; I’m trying to influence people to be nicer to each other and to spread positivity around them. For the rest of this week and all of next week I challenge each of you to do one nice thing a day for a different person each day. It can be a complete stranger or it can be someone you love it doesn’t matter. It can be as simple as smiling kindly at a person you pass in public; or buying someone you love a gift, because people are going to remember you by how you treat other people and not the possessions you own.

Let me tell you a story about one day when I was at the gym. It was the end of my workout and I was walking out of the building, and I was right behind this guy and he opened the door but he did not hold it for me and just kept walking; and I kept a mental note of this in my head. The next morning I was walking into the gym to begin my workout and I saw the guy right behind me, so I held the door open for him. The guy just kept looking at his phone he didnt even look up or say thank you for me holding the door open for him, and I remember that because it kinda hurt me a little that the guy had no manners.

But you cant let one bad experience ruin it for you; you should still treat people with kindness even if they don’t return it. Do nice things for people and don’t expect anything else in return, because that’s how the world is going to be a better place if we just keep doing one nice day a deed and it passes on to one person after another. Acts of kindness are contagious its been proven, because at the end of the day it matters how we’ve treated people not what we own or our occupation. At our funerals people aren’t going to talk about the stuff we owned, they are going to talk about how we treated people and the things we accomplished in life. You want to have people show up to your funeral who actually care for you because of how you treated them and you want them to remember you for those things and think of you as a good person.

You can also take this rule into business as well, customers and partners are going to remember you by how you treated them. Customers aren’t going to come back to your business if you have poor customer service; they will go find a company with the same services that treat the customer base better; but they will also tell other people about their experience with your business and that will effect your business and revenue. On the other hand if you treat them well and give them good customer service they will keep coming back for business but as well as telling other people to choose your business over others. People aren’t going to want to do business with you either if you treat them poorly. Employees aren’t going to stay with your business if you treat them poorly. Moral of the story is to just treat people with respect.

Introduction to the blog

Welcome to the elevated effort blog, I’m an up and coming owner of a business and on this blog I’m going to talk\write about the importance of keeping yourself happy. As well as learning how to achieve that and how to stay positive; as well as helping other people and elevating them to a higher level of happiness because if we are able to make other people happy, its proven to make us feel more happy and feel like we have a sense of meaning in the world. Because when it comes down to it, it doesn’t matter how much money we made through our lifetime. What really matters is who we helped and how many people we helped because that’s what peoples will remember you by; we remember people by how they treated us, not the kind of possessions they owned.

I will also be talking about the growing passion for entrepreneurship and how there is no better time to be an entrepreneur then now. With the internet and all the other opportunities we have at our fingertips.
